Guess what!? I’ve got some more exciting news from D.C.!

I’ve been cast in Lauren Gunderson’s World Premiere, A Room in the Castle, at The Folger Theatre! I’ll be playing Ophelia, the understudy for this run. A Room in the Castle was presented by Cincinnati Shakespeare Company from January 24th to February 9th, and now it’s at the Folger starting March 4th to April 6th! Here’s a short summary from the theater’s website: How does a woman survive the court of Denmark? How does anyone? A Room in the Castle follows Ophelia, her handmaid, and Queen Gertrude as they navigate the wild antics of a prince and realize just how dangerous life in this castle has become. A Room in the Castle puts a new spin on the stories of the women of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, turning them into a hilarious and heart-wrenching drama with music and a glimmer of hope for the future.

I have also been cast as Galatea in the Elizabethan era stage play Galatea Theatre Prometheus ! John Lyly's Galatea is a queer love story set inside the landscape of classical myth. In order to avoid becoming dinner for a sea monster, Galatea and Phillida are sent into the forest dressed as boys. Soooo…pretty much As You Like It meets A Midsummer Night's Dream! Run is from April 18th- May 10th. I’m thrilled to be part of a theater that celebrates the talents of artists and audiences alike, showcasing both new and classic queer and feminist art.
